Strengthening Our Mission

Prevention and change both start, most often, with a conversation.
At Change the Conversation, we know that a single, honest exchange can help shift the course of someone’s life.
That’s the work we do every day. And it’s the work your giving makes possible.

Our Giving Circles are for people who want to be part of that work in a sustained way.

Why sustained giving matters

Much of our funding comes through grants, often directed towards geographic areas or specific programmatic goals. That’s a good thing: it means funders trust us to deliver on the positive outcomes we’re working toward together. But it also means there’s sometimes a gap between what or how much grants cover and what the work actually requires.

Giving Circle members help fill that gap. Unrestricted, multi-year gifts allow us to be responsive and put resources where they’re needed most, whether that’s reaching more students, providing more waitlisted clients with access to counseling sessions, or training the next group of professionals who work with survivors.

In the last year, Turn the Talk reached nearly 15,000 middle and high school students across four school districts. Ninety-six percent of students reported learning something new. Our Counseling Assistance Program (CAP) provided 120 individuals with over 2000 professional counseling sessions to address their trauma, with 95% reporting improved well-being after care. Behind every one of those sessions is a community of supporters who keep saying “yes” to this invaluable work.
